The Applied Digital Literacy (ADL) Program by Angaza Center is more than just another tech course; it’s a comprehensive journey designed to empower you with real-world skills that open doors to top universities, global careers, and 21st-century leadership.
What Will You Learn?
Your will actively engage with the most in-demand digital skills of our time, biased on Ai:
- Digital Citizenship – Learn safe, ethical, and responsible online behavior.
- Cybersecurity – Understand how to protect information and stay safe online.
- Cloud Computing – Master tools used by companies like Google and Amazon.
- Software Engineering – Learn coding and build actual software applications.
- Data Engineering & Data Science – Understand how data powers decisions in business, healthcare, and beyond.
- Robotics & IoT (Internet of Things) – Design, code, and bring machines and smart devices to life.
Who should apply?
- High Schoolers: If under 18, parent/guardian consent; school ID or National ID (where applicable).
- Form 4 Leavers: National ID; brief digital-readiness check. Partner school nominations may receive fast-track review or fee waivers where applicable.
- Gap-year learners: Can commit 12–20 hours/week, self-driven, comfortable presenting work. National ID; readiness check; consistent availability for team projects.
- University students:Looking for internships/attachments, want GitHub portfolio pieces, ready to collaborate in small teams. Student ID/National ID; ability to attend sprints and showcase days.
- Early-career up-skillers: Recent graduates; junior IT/support staff; SME employees; teachers/mentors introducing digital projects; professionals pivoting into tech.
Minimum readiness (all applicants)
- Comfortable using a computer (typing, files, web).
- Basic English communication (instruction language) and readiness to learn technical vocabulary.
- Attendance commitment: 80%+ required to complete; teamwork and deadlines matter.
- Code of conduct & safety: Agree to IADL policies (H&S, safeguarding, data privacy).
What we evaluate in selection
- Motivation & fit: Short statement or interview on goals and interest areas.
- Foundational skills: Brief digital-readiness check (no prior coding required).
- Reliability: Ability to meet session times and project milestones.
- Growth mindset: Openness to feedback, teamwork, and iteration.
